NBgF is an association of clubs and players. The federation is the highest body for organized backgammon in Norway, and represents Norwegian backgammon at home and abroad. Furthermore, the federation safeguards the interests of players and clubs, and works to increase interest in backgammon in general. We establish rules for playing under federation, club and online auspices.
NBgF has affiliated clubs in: Oslo, Drammen, Nesodden, Horten & Tønsberg, Notodden, Trondheim, Bodø, Alta, Tromsø, Stavanger, Sandnes, Bergen and Alver. Most have weekly club nights in/at their own premises/nightspots.
NBgF also organizes national tournaments that take place online:
- The Norwegian Cup is a national tournament cycle that gives players across the country the opportunity to compete for class-wise titles. The tournaments will help us make it easier for new players to seek out the environment, as well as give players both with and without local club access a good offer. Not least, we want the Norwegian Cup to lead to players visiting other clubs in connection with tournaments organised by the club.
- Nettligaen is a league game that is nationwide for all members.
